TRACY LAWRENCE OUT HERE IN IT (EP)
“Time Marches On” for one of country’s most recognizable voices as Tracy Lawrence returns for his first collection of new studio recordings in five years. With his Out Here In It EP, six new songs range from ‘90s-style life ballads to new-school tailgate bangers, with the vocal twang out front. (Available June 7.)
JACK McKEON TALKING TO STRANGERS
Landing in the sweet spot between country, bluegrass, and folk rock, singer-songwriter Jack McKeon embraces the comfort of Appalachian soul on his debut album, Talking to Strangers. Featuring literary lyricism and easy-going vocals, 10 swaying tracks hit the bullseye of Americana roots. (Available June 21.)
JOHNNY CASH SONGWRITER
Johnny Cash’s legendary pen is the focus of a new collection of previously unheard songs, with Songwriter reviving 11 unreleased 1993 recordings. All written solo by Cash and paired with a tasteful, eclectic-modern mix, his worldly but down-to-earth poetry reveals a giant at a turning point.(Available June 28.)
YELAWOLF WAR STORY
Hip-hop firebrand Yelawolf drops a bomb on the double album, War Story, continuing to flow against the grain. Ignoring trends to mix gritty, Southern-fried gangsta trap with funky flexes of rock and EDM, friends like Jelly Roll and more go to battle for Nashville’s favorite homegrown hustler. (Available June 7.)
